Leigh-Anne Lawrence (née Mauk) is a public relations consultant and social media strategist who specializes in professional writing, brand management, and social media training for higher education institutions, small businesses, and independent professionals.
She has more than 10 years of experience in higher education marketing and social media management and more than 15 years of experience in professional copy writing and editing. She regularly speaks on social media and PR best practices at regional and national conferences, at local colleges and universities, and on behalf of civic and community organizations.
Lawrence currently serves as the director of marketing and media relations at Piedmont Virginia Community College, as a social media consultant for the National Council of Marketing and Public Relations, and as the director of public relations and marketing for The BEACON House, Inc. Her professional experience includes working as a social media manager, as a freelance web designer for several small businesses and nonprofits, and as a freelance writer for various publications.
Lawrence has a master’s degree in professional writing from New England College, a bachelor’s degree in English with a minor in photography from Shepherd University, and an associate degree in liberal arts from Hagerstown Community College. She is a member of the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations, the Public Relations Society of America, and the American Marketing Association.
